NBA Finals Preview Heat vs. Spurs Rematch

Tomorrow embarks the start of the NBA Finals . It is a rematch between the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat. The Spurs are looking for redemption, as they had the Finals in the bag in Game 6 , leading by 5 points , with under a minute left to play in the game. It seemed as if  LeBron's title defense was going to be  a fluke, but the Spurs chocked and Ray Allen came to the rescue with a last second 3 pointer to put the game into overtime , and Miami dominated their way to a second-straight title.  But, now the Spurs have used that moment as motivation for this season, getting the top seed in the NBA. Coach Gregg Poppovich was named Coach of the Year.  However, as for Miami, they are in great company historically speaking , they will have gone to 4 straight NBA Finals, the last team to do that was the Boston Celtics with Larry Bird , from (1983-1987) . The Heat will try to make a three-peat.  The last team to do that is the 2000-2002 LA Lakers with dynamic duo Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal.
Now, as for my prediction...., the Miami Heat will win the series in 7 games. This Heat and Spurs match up reminds me of the 1997,1998 NBA Finals with the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz. LeBron and the Heat are like Jordan and the Bulls , with more athleticism and skill. The Spurs are like the Jazz , with Duncan and Parker , playing like Stockton and Malone with a fundamentally-based playing style.  History will repeat itself and we will have another  NBA team to 3-peat.  I just think that the Spurs are too old with 38-yr old Duncan and aging 31-yr old Tony Parker.  Fundamentals are essential, but you can't get over the hump with bad knees and backs. The Heat are younger , stronger , quicker and have more talent. Talent, combined with determination and disciple is a deadly combination, and that's what the Heat have.
