Week 2 of Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon and Start of Late Night with Seth Meyers

So it is week 2 if the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and the start of Late Night with Seth Meyers. The shows will both have Portlandia star and SNL bud Fred Armisen as he is the guest tonight and the house band performer for Late Night with Seth Meyers. Fallon, Armisen and Meyers know each other from working together on Saturday Night Live in the 2000s. That will probably be a talking point on the shows and his show Portlandia will start it's 4th season on Thursday on IFC.  Be sure to check it out! I highly reccomend the show.

TV Week Wrap Up

For this week, I was caught up on the shows Workaholics and Girls. An all-new Workaholics episode will be aired on Weds  on Comedy Central at 10pm. For all you Parks and Recreation fans, the show will resume on Thursday on NBC at 8:30pm. HBO fans, Girls will return tomorrow at 10pm. Also, I finally got a chance to watch Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show. Guest Justin Timberlake was on and the buds were having an awesome time and that energy spread through the screen and to audiences nationally. Social media was blowing up last night and great reviews of the show were posted last night. Be sure to check out Fallon on the Tonight Show at 11:30pm weeknights. Overall, it was a great week for television and it should be even better next week with the return of some shows and new episodes from existing ones. Lego Movie

I just watched the Lego Movie and was filled with awe. My 8 year old self and young adult self were reunited and the days of playing Legos and creating mystical worlds. The movie is subtle , yet filled with humor and action throughout.  Chris Pratt, playing the protagonist , Emitt an ordinary Lego construction worker, encounters a mystical block need to save the alternate Lego universes from destruction from President Business(Will Ferrell). Along the way, Emitt receives help from superheroes, Wonderwoman and Batman, and practically every major fictional superhero or mystical superhero in Lego version. Emitt must save the Lego world before it is too late. Will he and his friends be able to do it? It is a great movie and all should watch it. It is fun and relateable for all of your family and friends. Derek Jeter to retire after upcoming season

Yankee captain Derek Jeter will retire after the 2014 MLB season. Jeter announced this today on his facebook page that after careful consideration and discussion, he will hang up his cleats. Jeter will no doubt be a first-ballot Hall Of Famer with 5 World Series rings , 5 Golden Gloves, 3,316 hits and counting. He has been consistent and reliable for the Yankees for 19 years. With injuries plaguing him last season, Jeter is fully rested and will most likely play the majority of his final season. I wish the best of luck to Jeter and that he tastes the last bits of success on the field. He will surely be missed after next season

Workaholics Weds

Yo if you want a couple laughs to cap off your night tomorrow, then watch Workaholics at 10pm. It is on Comedy Central and I hope you all have been catching up. If not, there is still time. Also, this month, Portlandia comes back for a 4th season on the 27th. It should be extremely hilarious as always. To recap, go and watch Workaholics on Weds, tomorrow at 10pm on Comedy Central. Michael Sam Groundbreaking the Sexual Orientation Line in Football

Michael Sam, Defensive End of Missouri has announced yesterday that he is openly gay and looks forward to being drafted in the NFL in May. Sam, is an outstanding college player and won SEC Defensive Player of the Year. I don't have an issue with Sam being gay and playing in the NFL. Most likely, a decent percentage of NFL players are gay, but closeted and don't want to face the media and lockeroom problems. After hearing his interview, he seems confident in himself and is willing to face the negative taunting in the NFL. Times are changing and we must embrace everyone for who they are and represent . Best of luck to Michael Sam and his future  aspirations in the NFL, and homosexual professional athletes everywhere. Jay Leno's last Tonight Show

Jay Leno performed his final show on NBC for now. It has been an incredible run for 22 years. He has carried on the great legacy of the Tonight Show and previous hosts, Johnny Carson, Conan O'Brien, himself and now Jimmy Fallon will take over on Feb 17th. Replacing Jimmy Fallon is SNL's Seth Meyers. I can't wait to see Jimmy Fallon run the show and Seth Meyers host his own show. Check it out for one last time Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Winter Olympics 2014

Today marks the beginning of the Winter Olympics.  It should be entertaining to see all of the great events the games has to offer. The games in my opinion isn't as popular the summer games but it should be entertaining.  I look forward to seeing athletes such as Shaun White to win another medal in snowboarding and Lolo Jones , in her first winter games and transitioning  from Track and Field in the Summer Games to Luge? Will this mark a first win for her career or will she come up short in the cold? All of these questions will be answered in the coming weeks of the games. Be sure to check it out on NBC . Disturbing School Related Video

I was on my Facebook profile to check out the "news" from friends and acquaintances. Usually nothing is that newsworthy, however, I came across this ad from Australia , informing its highschool students to stay in school and not miss classes. The video starts out like a cliche movie , ex: Farris Bueler's Day Off , but the Australian version, but somehow ends up turning into a blood bath in the movie District 9.  I don't think its much of an incentive for Australian students to come to school after watching this ad. You know the saying, "desperate times call for desperate measures." Well, I don't think this situation is desperate and the measures do not need to be the same. Word of advice kids in highschool across the globe, get your education, you'll find a job, work hard and apply your talents. http://thoughtcatalog.com/jessica-blankenship/2014/01/this-anti-skipping-school-ad-is-the-most-disturbing-thing-ive-ever-seen/#GVQE5MBHEej8Xd7f.01

Superbowl Aftermath

Superbowl 48 turned out to be quite anti-climatic. The Seattle Seahawks dominated the Denver Broncos 43-8. The number 1 ranked defense squandered the number 1 ranked Bronco offense. I guess the signs pointed to failure by the Broncos when they botched their opening drive and received a safety.Yet, the Broncos did have opportunities to score but turnovers from Seattle's intense defense defeated their morale. Offensively and special teams by Seattle were excellent , contributing to quick points. The Broncos did have an amazing season and under Manning he proved worthy of getting to the Super Bowl , but not capturing a second Super Bowl win for his career. Congratulations to Seattle, their first Super Bowl victory in franchise history and have laid the foundation  for a successful future under Russell Wilson , Richard Sherman and coach Pete Carroll.
