5 Years: David Bowie Documentary

David Bowie is revered as one of the greatest artists of all time. His influence on pop, rock, soul music has shaped the way current artists perform and create their music. The documentary, 5 years , chronicles a 5 year period from the mid 1970s , David's Ziggy Stardust and Soulman Days, to the early 1980s, with hits such as "Let's Dance", "China Girl" etc. In addition, the film captures Bowie's commentary and thought process behind those songs, albums and artistic direction in that time period.  Bowie is a creative genius and also in this documentary one can see the struggles Bowie has personally and how his music served as an outlet to release his pain and transform that into musical expression.  I highly recommend that everyone watches this documentary on Showtime.  Rating: 9.5/10
