NBA Free Agency Update 7/8/14

There has been some more buzz surrounding the NBA this summer. Superstars such as Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat, has been offered a 4 yr 88 million dollar deal from the Houston Rockets. I expect Bosh to sing with the Rockets and join players Dwight Howard and James Harden.  As for LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, their uncertainty still looms. I expect Carmelo Anthony to join the Los Angeles Lakers alongside Kobe Bryant and for LeBron James , he will resign with the Miami Heat most likely along with Dwayne Wade. The Big 3 in Miami will no longer be the same, after 4 Finals runs and 2 Championships , Wade, Bosh and James have run their course together.  For Carmelo Anthony , I think Los Angeles will be a good look for him. A fresh start would suit him and I can't see him playing for Derek Fisher and the Knicks. Kobe Bryant says that he's "100 percent" healthy and the two stars would complement each other greatly. Also, I think free agent Paul Gasol will re-sign with Los Angeles and make a great core , along with veteran Steve Nash.  Overall, we shall see how everything pans out.  All I know is, that the next NBA season will be even more exciting to watch.

"White Elephants" Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel Segment

After watching the latest episode of HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, a segment that intrigued me the most was called "White Elephants". As Brazil prepares for the World Cup next month and the Olympics in about 18 months, they have undergone extreme construction of its stadiums and athletic facilities . However, where is all of this money coming from, since they Brazilian government isn't known as an economic powerhouse? Also, what will happen to these stadiums once the World Cup and Olympics are over? What will most likely happen is that the facilities will not be used and they will deteriorate over time. The citizens of Brazil will suffer more socio-economic hardship and the money used to build the stadiums will have practically been a waste. This is called a White Elephant.  Also, White Elephants have occurred in the past, with the 2004 Olympic Games in Greece, their stadiums now are not used and their economy has suffered as a result of funding for the games....

SNL Last Night

Saturday Night Live was great last night , filled with guest appearances by Daniel Crag, aka James Bond, and musical performance by rock band Muse. SNL did great parodies of this last weeks presidential debate between incumbent president Barack Obama and governor Mitt Romney. In addition , a comical appearance by Sesame Street's Big Bird, appeared to respond to Romney's comments on cutting PBS cidication on national television , including shows such as Sesame Street. Overall, last night was a great show and tune in next week @ 11:30pm Et.

Jim Carrey Hosts SNL tonight

Funnyman Jim Carrey will be hosting SNL tonight at 1:30pm on NBC et. The show tonight will most definitely be hilarious because Carrey is hosting and his comedic skills are the best in the business. I'm excitied to watch Carrey and his acts that will be in store for us, the audience. Maybe he will do some sketches such as "The Mask" or could be the eccentric" Cable Guy" or "Fire Marshall Bill" from his In Living Color days. Anyway, be sure to check out Carrey tonight and also he his reprising his "Dumb and Dumber Too" role, which hits theaters on November 21st. Check him out tonight on NBC @11:30pm et.  Next week on SNL, guests Chris Rock and Prince will be hosting SNL!!
