Kobe: : The Interview on NBA TV

Hello everyone, I'm back from taking a bit of a hiatus from my posting and I've got some new posts for you all . First, I want to discuss what I watched last night, which was an intreview between NBA superstar Kobe Bryant and Ahmad Rashad. Kobe Bryant' current NBA superstar, Laker legend and 5-time champion and MVP who came onto the scene at 17 yrs old in  the NBA. It is almost 20 years since Bryant has come into the league and has taken it by storm, shattering almost all Laker records and NBA records. His recent accomplishment was surpassing Michael Jordan, the best player to ever play in the NBA, as 3rd on the All-Time Scoring List.  However, Bryant has been plagued by injuries the past 3 years,  with an Achilles tear, Knee Fracture and just 3 weeks ago, a torn rota-tor cuff in his shoulder. Bryant has not played a full NBA season in two years. Many of us fans , media and NBA colleagues are wondering if Bryant will retire soon. Will he ever be the same dominant player again?

In last night's interview with Kobe Bryant, Ahmad Rahsad asked him a series of questions such as How was he and former teammate and NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal. Why did they not get along as well as people thought? Also, what motivates Kobe now, at 36?  Does he think he can still be dominant in the ever-changing NBA?

Bryant answered all those questions by stating that O'Neal and him weren't friends. Partly, because O'Neal was focused on having fun and being lighthearted while playing in the NBA. Kobe wanted Shaq "to work" and then he would "give him the ball." As for motivation, winning championships and playing at the highest level and watching current superstars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant , Steph Curry and James Harden keep him going because he wants that competition. Bryant said, " I think there's something I can take away from in there individual strengths." And Finally, Bryant still believes he will be dominant in the league once he returns from his injury. He wants fans and trusts himself enough that he can overcome this and perform. Granted, we all know players can't play forever and father time is undefeated when it comes to matters of the body and aging.  Bryant said in regards to this question, was " There have been many players, legends, in the past that have levels  physical skills and lacked some, why cant I still be dominant?"

Overall, we are wishing you the best Kobe and I hope to see you dominate next year in the NBA. The NBA isn't the same without you and if an when you decide to retire, your legacy will undoubtedly be cemented as one of the best to play this game.

One Love
